Account and Contact InformationData you provide when you create an account, make a purchase, or communicate with us. This includes your name, email address, phone number, billing/shipping address, and company name.
Data Collected Through DevicesData generated by the RentEye sensors installed at your property. This is primarily non-personal, environmental data, such as decibel levels, timestamps, and device diagnostics.
Device and Usage DataTechnical data about how you access and use our Platform and Mobile Apps, including IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and interaction data.
Location and Property DataInformation you provide about the properties where you install our Devices, such as a property address or a custom name (e.g., “Mountain View Cabin”).

4. Data Collected Through Devices

This category of data is central to our Service and is handled with the utmost attention to privacy. Our principle is to collect only the data necessary to provide the core functionality of the Service.

•Noise Level Data: Our noise sensors measure ambient sound levels (decibels) and the timestamp of the measurement. This allows the system to detect and alert you to potential noise disturbances. To be unequivocally clear: our devices DO NOT record, stream, store, or transmit any audio or conversations. The data is a numerical value representing a sound level, nothing more.

•Future Sensor Data: As we introduce new devices (e.g., for occupancy or environmental monitoring), we may collect other types of data. For example, an occupancy sensor might report a binary value (occupied/unoccupied) or a people count, and an environmental sensor might report temperature, humidity, or air quality levels. Any new data collection will be governed by this Privacy Policy, and we will be transparent about what data is being collected.

•Device Identifiers & Diagnostics: Each hardware device has a unique identifier to associate it with your account and property. We also collect technical data about device status, network connectivity (Wi-Fi signal strength), and battery level to ensure proper functioning, provide support, and troubleshoot issues.

5. Account and Contact Information

When you register for a RentEye account, purchase a product, or communicate with our support team, we collect information that personally identifies you. This is necessary to manage your account, process your orders, and provide you with customer service.

This data includes:

•Identifiers: Your full name, email address, and phone number.

•Commercial Information: Records of products or services purchased, and billing and shipping addresses.

•Communications: Records of your correspondence with us, including support tickets and email inquiries.

6. Device and Usage Data

When you interact with our Platform (website) or Mobile Apps, we automatically collect technical information about your device and your usage. This helps us understand how our Services are used, improve user experience, maintain security, and troubleshoot bugs.

This data includes:

•Internet and Network Activity: Your IP Address, browser type and version, device type and operating system, mobile app version, and mobile device identifiers.

•Usage Information: The pages of our Platform that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and your interactions with features within the Platform and Mobile Apps (such as clicks, settings changes, and feature usage).

7. Location and Property Data

To use the Services effectively, you will provide information about the properties you are monitoring. This data is essential for you to manage your devices and receive meaningful alerts.

This data includes:

•Property Identifiers: The address or general location of the property where a device is installed. You may also assign a custom name or identifier (e.g., “Apartment 5B”).

•Configuration Data: The settings you apply to each property, such as the specific noise thresholds for alerts, quiet hours, and notification preferences.

These safeguards include implementing the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or verifying that the recipient is certified under a recognized adequacy framework.

12. Data Retention

We will retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. The retention period depends on the type of data and the purpose for which it was collected.

•Account Data: We retain your account information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with our legal obligations.

•Sensor Data: Raw sensor data (e.g., individual decibel readings) is typically retained for a limited period to provide historical graphs and then may be aggregated and anonymized for long-term analytical purposes.

•No Audio or Visual Recording: We state this again for absolute clarity: RentEye sensors are not surveillance devices. They do not have microphones to record conversations or cameras to record video. They only measure environmental data, such as decibel levels, to detect potential disturbances.

•Privacy by Design: The system is specifically engineered to protect guest privacy by providing a non-invasive way to monitor for issues like excessive noise without capturing sensitive personal data.

If you are a parent or guardian and you become aware that your child has provided us with personal data without your consent, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.

20. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date at the top.
